Whether you're a school band, a youth choir or a dance group, the opportunity to showcase your talent at Disney can make your students excited but also a little nervous. But fear not, with proper preparation and attention to detail, you can set your group up for success in their audition for a Disney Imagination Campus performance.

Check out some of our top tips for groups interested in submitting an application for their group to perform with Disney Imagination Campus:

Submit Your Application Early

The key to securing your optimal performance date is to start early. Groups may begin the application process one year before their desired performance date. Not only does this give you additional time to prepare and rehearse, if your group is selected for a performance at Disney, you’ll also have a better selection of dates to choose from for your performance.

Keep in mind, auditions are only required for Disney Imagination Campus Performance experiences. At Walt Disney World Resort, no audition is required for Disney Imagination Campus Performing Arts workshops. At Disneyland Resort, only Middle School groups need to submit an audition to attend a Performing Arts workshop.

Review Audition Video Requirements

Your audition videos are your chance to shine and impress the Disney Imagination Campus selection team. Here is what you need to do to prepare:

- You'll need to submit two (Walt Disney World Resort) or three (Disneyland Resort) videos that showcase the talent and abilities of your ensemble. These videos should provide a glimpse of what your performance will entail, including the makeup of the ensemble, the genre of performance and the overall ability of your performers.

- Choose music that highlights your group's strengths, but don't aim for something overly challenging. It's more important to demonstrate cohesion and skill than technical prowess. For your audition, you don’t have to use the same music as your performance.

- Your students should appear engaged, enthusiastic and emotive in the videos.

- Your audition videos must be from within the last 12 months. However, the videos submitted don’t have to be from a formal performance – they can be filmed during a rehearsal or other informal performance moment. The key is that the videos truly highlight your groups’ performance ability.

Tip: Some groups document their performances throughout the year. A parent or other teacher is tasked with filming every concert, recital or parade your ensemble participates in. This footage can be invaluable for showcasing your group's progression and stage presence.

- The number of performers in your audition video should be within 15% (Walt Disney World Resort) or 10% (Disneyland Resort) of the number who will perform. Please keep in mind our performance minimums and ensure that you meet these requirements. For example, a dance troupe with 40 performers would need to make sure at least 34 performers are in their audition video.

- You don't need professional equipment; a smartphone camera can suffice if the footage is clear and captures the essence of your ensemble.

- Be sure to provide photos of the attire your ensemble will wear for their Disney Imagination Campus performance. Your group doesn’t have to wear their performance attire in their audition video.

- If there are any changes in number of participants or performance attire, you must inform Disney Imagination Campus of the change and submit an updated audition for consideration.
